By January 7, 2020March 24th, 2020No Comments

Giving a sales pitch, especially if it is your first time can be very nerve wracking. Trying to sell your idea to an investor or making prospect customers to sign up for your services or product can be a tough job. In order for a business to flourish, sales is the key factor.

Here are a few ways through which a person can improve his or her face-to-face sales pitch:

DO YOUR HOMEWORK

It is important that you are very well prepared for the meeting. You should know every little detail about your product or service or the idea that you are trying sell. This is the only way you can smoothly answer any cross question the client might ask.

KNOW YOUR COMPETITORS

In order to have a competitive advantage, you need to know all about your competitors too. So stay updated and present a pitch which is better than that of your competitors and offers something different and unique.

FOCUS ON THE DELIVERY OF THE CONTENT

You might have tons of information or knowledge but if you cannot deliver it properly, it will be of no use. Focus on your body language. Speak slowly and politely so that the other person can clearly understand what you are proposing. Act and look confident like you know what you are talking about!

FOCUS ON WIIIFM TECHNIQUE

What is in it for me (WIIIFM) technique is basically to tell your client how your product and service is important for them and how it can bring a change in their lives. They will only be interested if they understand what is in it for them!

ANSWER THEIR QUESTIONS CONFIDENTLY

People tend to get very confused during this part. One cannot possibly predict the kind of questions clients might ask. But, if you have done your homework there is no point of being scared of their questions. So act cool and confident and answer their questions with great thought and passion.

SHOW YOUR PASSION

If you are selling your product, you have to look passionate about it. They should be able to see how interested you are in this.

BE CREATIVE

Try to grab their attention by being creative and different. One of the things you can do is start off the meeting by giving them a box of labeled chocolate truffles. This is a sweet business gesture and you can use these custom chocolates as your business card. This will leave a good impression on them. PREPARE FOR OBJECTIONS

People tend to get confused when they hear criticism or objections from the other end. Prepare yourself for this situation and present solutions in a calm manner.

KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS

Ask questions and do not be a know-it all. Show them that you are interested in their field of work too and how both the parties can mutually benefit from each other.

FOLLOW UP

Last but not the least, in the end always be thankful for their time no matter how the meeting went. Not everything will always go in your favor and it is okay. The point is to never lose your calm and learn from experience.
